im not whining, and I am aware that Melrose was the one with the Margarita comment. That's where I got it from, I'm not gonna pretend like it was my idea, although I was thinking about it during Cherry's speech. I just couldn't think of the right word, i kept coming up with Squishee, like from the simpsons.

  1. I don't that game will change because  of miss one call. The Pens need to get the puck away from the red wing

they both the 4on 4 two times.

tre tripping in on occur when you use the leg or arm or the stick. not the whole body

  2. Right at the VERY beginning of the game there was a high stick that the Penguins got away with.  It works both ways.

It is Johan Franzen, not Jeff.

I agree that Ozzie embellished the hit at the end of the game but it does not take away from the fact that he should NOT have been hit at all.

There were many missed calls for both teams.

What ifs do not get you anywhere.

It is a rant no matter what you call it.

I did not see Don Cherry but had to put up with the MOST annoying Versus announcers.

Two games does not win the cup.  The Penguins are in a hole but they are a great team and could come back.  It is not likely they could beat the Wings four straight, though.

I am a Wings fan but I want a good series.  Look for your Pens to play better at home.

I will try to check Don Cherry out if I can.  He is one strange dude!

PS The Wings don't have a player named Gill.

  3. -I didn't see Cherry.

    - Look at the replay again - Roberts hit Franzen in the jaw w/ a sucker punch. Now realistically it didn't look that hard, but if the tables had been reversed, any one of the Pens would have done the same.

    - I think Osgood's fall was more because he was caught by surprise and it knocked him of balance. The bottom line is - it was a cheap shot and deserved a penalty.

    - Calls were missed on both sides. That goes for the tripping question too. Now if you're referring to the high stick on Sykora, that was by his own teammate Gill.

    - Malone is a thug, he deserved to be in there MORE!

OK, that's called hit w/ a high stick, not high sticking. High sticking is striking a player above the shoulder w/ your stick.

  4. First off Jeff Franzen? He's Swedish so its said to be Johan Franzen.. I agree with you that The Refs didn't really pay attention to the Guys sticks in faces, plus gloves with 1:08 to play in the game. I don't think Ozzie dove, cause if you watch his skates he lost his balance. Ryan Malone is a dirty player, sorry But In Detroit You Don't Get Away With Just Anything!

  5. this question kills me. every time a someone has said one thing about the calls the pen's have gotten all you pen's fans were like "stop whining", "your cry babies" "every call was fine", "get over it the game is over" and now that the pen's are loosing and aren't getting every call all you do is whine, its pretty pathetic how you guys contradict yourself. The other thing is that most of the things you said in this question is bull-c**p. if someone hit crosby how roberts hit franzen you would have said that it was the cheapest hit ever and that the guy who did it should get a penalty or thrown out of the game and if someone hit fluery like osgood was you would have freaked out and would have said it was cheap. i can't even believe you asked a question like this

  6. When it takes until 6 minutes of the second period for a team to have it's first five on five shot on net. The problem does not lie with the referees, the outfit of the announcers, or a questionable hit in the third period. The problem lies with the heart and soul of the team itself.

If I may quote the reports after game one. "we have to have better shots on net and put the pressure on them in their end."

What does that mean. Or is the bandwagon getting too crowded?

  7. You are wining (look up the meaning if you aren't sure) and Malone should have been tossed out of the game. If he isn't a thug he did a great job of acting like one.

Penns need a goalie, not the sieve they have in net. He couldn't stop a beach ball. And aside from playing dirty - they got away with 8 or 10 penalties - why are they even here in the Cup finals?

Roberts should be suspended and fined for the sucker punch, knowing he had a head injury - that's not sports or part of the game - it's assault brother.

  8. i think your ranting/whining/crying (QUIT IT!!!!!) and U dont know anything about hockey

  9. -Don Cherry doesn't wear glasses.

-Franzen's first name is Johan, not Jeff.  And other than that sucker punch, he looked just fine.

-When you wear that much padding, you're more susceptible to falling.  I'll admit that it does look a bit fishy but I'm not going to attack Osgood.

-Well, they would have needed to get the chance first.  The problem is they try to take it in by themselves and the Wings swarm in on them, forcing them off the puck and taking it down the ice.

    -You already said that.

-Yes and most of those would have been against Pittsburgh.

-No, he should have been in there more.

  10. Detroit is just the better team depthwise. I don't know if they will sweep them, but the Wings will win the Cup. Everyone was saying that the Penguins would win because they have Crosby, Malkin, and Hossa. But, the last time I checked you need more than 3 players to win the Cup. Detroit in 5.

    Go Wings!

  11. -Roberts clearly hit Franzen in the face.  Go to the link provided below and pause at the 45 second mark.  His fist is practically inside Franzens mouth.

-Yes Cherry often does look strange but his comment about Datsyuk was hillarious...."stop it, stop it".  lol

-If you try, you can watch any hockey game and point out 1000 calls that the refs should or should not have called.  The Wings didnt get away with anymore than the Pens.

  12. Plagiarizing Barry Melrose's "margarita" comment on ESPN last night does not make you appear clever. Try to be original, please, and don't be a sore loser. I didn't whine when the Ducks eliminated the Wings last year.

You posted a rant. You left out Gary Robert's deliberate cheap shot from behind on Franzen. Then, he lied later in an interview saying he was trying to throw a shoulder into Franzen. A left hook is a shoulder? You're benched, Gary. Therrien was hoping you'd lead, and you did. You led the younger players to a meltdown. Roberts and the other thug who threw an elbow into Franzen's head deserve suspensions.

Therrien is in over his head, acting desperate and whining. I love the camera shots of his confused face on the bench.

Datsyuk more than held his own against big bad Gary near the end. I'm sure Gary's face is as sore as anyone's today after that flurry of left hands. Remember, he wound up in a "please don't hurt me" crouch?

I remember in 1999 when the Wings lost to Colorado in the semis. When asked, I said we got swept, even though it went six games. The Avs won four straight to close the series and I made no excuses. They employed the same tactics as Detroit defensively: force the scorers wide.

Get a grip, please. The league wants Crosby to win the Cup.

  13. none of what you're saying would've changed the game. or the series.

the bottom line is that the Penguins have NO answers for the wings. they have NO idea what has hit them, and rather than making the right adjustments, they are grasping for straws, both in their play and in their words.

btw, it's Johan Franzen. and Pens fans have no business whining about diving.

go back to Football. it's obvious that you know more about that. (and i have no idea how much you know about football, except your avatar. hint.)

add - actions speak louder than words. apparently Malone IS a thug. that seems to be the only thing he can do, cuz he obviously isn't generating offense. i think what you're trying to find the words to explain is that Malone (along w/ the rest of the team) isn't comfortable trying to fill a new role.

  14. Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at your "charging call, converted power play" line.

    Yeah, since they've converted yet.

    Nice try.

  15. Obviously there were missed calls on both sides (calls that could have gone against the Pens and calls that could have gone against the Wings)--such is the fast game of hockey.

Personally, I think the Pens' only chance in this series is to stop making excuses and look at themselves and what they need to do to get on the Board.  Blaming the officials is a petty way of avoiding responsibility.

  16. Don Cherry looked like a fat margarita wearing glasses

    A) Watched Versus - but I am sure you are right.

-Jeff Franzen needs more time off to get over his concussion, as when Gary Roberts punched/hit him in the chest, he waited a moment, then fell to the ice clutching his left eye area.

    A) I didn't see it that way - I did find it interesting that on three seperate occasions the Penguins went directly for his head.

-Chris Osgood was not hit that hard at the end of the game. I think he dove.

    A) I've seen the reply.  He was hit hard enough.  However, even if he did "make sure it was noticed" (the PC way to descibe embellishment), as we've seen 100 times in these playoffs, that often gets the referees' attention, and is a good strategy.

-There were several high sticking calls that the referees missed in the game.

    A) Yes, although on both sides.

-Early in the game, the refs missed an obvious charging call that would have put the Penguins on the man-advantage early. Had they converted that PP, the game might have taken a very different course.

    A) I agree that it was a charging call - however, since they haven't scored on other power plays, that becomes a much larger "if."

-Don Cherry looked like a fat margarita wearing glasses.

    A) Please see first answer.

-There were numerous tripping calls that were missed.

    A) True.

-Ryan Malone should not have been in the sin bin 3 times. At least one of those penalties was bull-c**p.

    A) Possibly true - I don't look closely at numbers.  However, Malone was a detrement to his team quite often in that game.

I am a Penguins fan. I think I've said that before. I'm posting the question like this instead of a rant because no body wants to read/hear a rant. Your thoughts?

I don't see anything big to argue about.  I don't agree with everything you said, but even if you're 100% correct all the way down the line, it's still beejn a lesson in hockey for the young Penguins.  IMHO

  17. Everywhere we turned there was a red jersey in our way.

  18. I think the answer is simple.

Its kids tryying to beat men here. The penns are a young, growth potential team. The wings are an experienced club. I did expect better compitition though. Osgood is having the series  that goalies dream of. Amazing to have back to back shutouts.

  19. Ouch...everyone pretty much shoved your "opinions" down your throat.  You share the same whining...er opinions as the Pengs' coach and Crosby though. Get those from their post game tantrums?

  20. I've said it before.

Stop making excuses  the pens just suck.

  21. Detroit Domated the game Pittsburgh needs to use there speed and play hockey they will never outdo the Phisceley
