  1. As you can probably tell by many of the other answers on here, a lot of Australians are in denial about their racist attitudes to Indigenous Australians (Aboriginies). School children are now being educated much more in regards to Indigenous Australians, so racism isn't as bad amongst the younger generation, but there are a lot of negative attitudes towards them coming from older generations. Indigenous Australians do have lots of unique challenges that we Non-Indigenous Australians do not have to face, but they are grossly stereotyped.

It is just a lack of understanding and lack of education, and I find it quite embarrassing that many Australians are still so racist and uneducated about Indigenous Australians.

  2. Most live in Darwin its always warm up there about 30 deg, most of the aborigines are on welfare and have no jobs, most are alcoholics, they were here in Australia before any white man. And I think its a disgrace how the white folk this it's o.k to cast them aside and claim the land that is rightfully theirs. I mean if you want to know history how they live  them google it there will be plenty of info there.

  3. stubbsy said it all.

  4. True blue Aboriginals that live in tribes in the outback are one of a kind.

The trouble maker Aborigines that get drunk and cause trouble and rely on welfare, I'm not so fond of to put it nicely.

I don't particularly agree with the 1/1000th Aborigines recieving the same entitlements as the full blooded ones.

  5. I think Aborigines have been misunderstood for a long time,as for them having social problems drinking issues etc... as others have pointed out,it is up to the government not to cast these people aside and give them some real help in better education on drug and alcohol problems.    The gonverment have ignored these people living in these dire conditions and are only now just starting to regonise their problems and do something about it.    The help has come too late, but the newer generation will be the ones that will benefit the most now.      They are a part of our heritage and should have all the resources and advantages that others have in out community.

  6. in my 28 years of existence iv probably known or met over 200+ aboriginals i can honestly say only a handful of them had jobs and wanted to make something of themselves the honest way! most of them are drunks, junkies and thieves who live in government housing.

personally iv seen aboriginals tear up floorboards in there lounge room to start a fire, iv seen junkie aboriginals need methadone just about everyday because they overdose on heroin.

generally speaking if you give them an inch they will try and take a mile

  7. they like to jump off cliffs and do crazy drugs.

  8. they sniff petrol to get high and say things like " give us ya' money ****" while they try to mug you. They think everyone is out to get them. They make people feel unsafe. Theres an area called Mirabooka and it has bush area and theres bloody 4 yr old abbos walking aroung in there hold sticks and trowing rocks at night . What parent lets there kid do that at night?

so yeah i dont like them . But aborignal people like Tania Mayjor is ok cause she wont jump at you and mug you and stuff :D

  9. They are the ****

  10. I agree with all the positive people that have answered.

A better assignment to give you would have been a survey on what the Aboriginals thoughts are on the enviromental destruction of their beautiful land since the invasion of our white ancestors.

  11. They are one of Australia's greatest assets and understand the Country way beyond knowledge of any of its recent inhabitants.

  12. i live in australia.

They are religious, indigenous, people of the red sands of Australia. They have been victims of racism and prejudice.

  13. Their ancient Dreamtime culture is beautiful & truly fascinating.

Echoing what someone else has said here already ~ They are a great asset with more archaic & natural knowledge than Australia's more recent inhabitants.

For years they've been victims of unfair vilification & racial prejudice.

  14. They have a very old culture and don't seem to want to assimilate with the rest of the population. While some do work hard and get on, all the others try to get handouts from the state and Federal Governments.

They were probably the very first "Communists" in that they believe that everything belongs to everyone, especially if it's newer than what they have they think they have a right to swap with you.

  15. Theres aloy of different opions about them and i guess u'll never know until you have met, hung around with them. they are just like "white" people some good, some bad. however most are drunks, addicts. and i dont feel safe around most of them. in brisbane we got followed by a group of them to the train station. in outback queensland there were kids as young as 3 with no shoes on in the street while there mums hit them. there were girls as young as 10, 11 being raped everyday and having kids.

from my experience i dont feel safe and they complain that we dont care. well they should try help themselves on get a real job and stay off welfare.

  16. they are the first people of this land.

they see the colonisation of Australia by the english as an invasion. the english took what was not theirs and claimed it in the name of their country.

the aboriginals are simple people in the manner that they dont have the need for luxury's such as electricity.

they hunted for their food and lived off everything the earth provided to them. they apologised to any animals killed for their survival and never took more than they needed.

the aboriginals of today are under stress from ignorant people who dont understand their culture and way of life. im not saying i do fully but i have a better grasp of it than many.

aboriginals today have **** healthcare and are treated like lesser beings. it is BS!!! Aboriginals are if anything more than anyone else as they have been here for 1000's of years and survive against all that they have been through. racism and injustice haunts the aboriginals and it is inhumane.prime minister Kevin Rudd is off to a good start by apologising to all those affected by the "stolen generations". which was fairly recent and went for 100 years from 1860 or so to 1960's and was whre the asutralian government took aboriginal children away from there families because they said that the aboriginal way of life was wrong and they wrre to be brought up under european ways.

    hope ive helped
