I think they did a REALLY good job evaluating the case and enlightening people on what happened with Mr. Vick, and it also gave a positive view on the Bully Breed :]

  1. I loved it! I just want to know what other breeds he had too!

I learned that they use cocaine sometimes to get a dog in the mood for fighting, and often starve them just before a fight so they'll be agitated!

I knew that Helen Keller had a pittie, but I didn't know that Betty Boop did too! :)

  2. I thought it was outstanding.  They really put a huge spotlight on the breed that roared "see us for who we really are"- and what that is, is ALL GOOD.

I couldn't thank Animal Planet and the ASPCA more for the work they did on this documentary piece.  Seeing those dogs rehabbed and how amazing they were in spite of all the torture and horror they had been through was very touching.  I think it will be a major factor in a shift that will start changing legislation against dog breeds to individual factors on the safety of individual dogs (and  question owners ability to contain their dogs) rather than what breed they are born as.

I hope everyone gets a chance to see this.

  3. Where did you see it?   Is it showing again?  I didn't know anything about this??

  4. Way to go Animal Planet pretty much sums it up.

They did a great job on the show, and a great job showing the true nature of these dogs.

MoMa, the show is called Animal Witness, its on Animal Planet and will re-air Wed. night.

  5. I thought it was great that only 1 out of all of the dogs was found to aggressive to adopt, I feel badly it was put down but it shows they really looked into the dogs and their behavior by being able to place all of them.

I also own a pit- best dog ever

  6. My thoughts exactly poor pit bulls get such bad rap.

If those dogs made it and got new homes I don't know why other pit bulls found in dog fighting rings are euthanized right away without even giving them a chance

  7. ahhh! i'm so mad that i didn't get to see this! i wanted to sooo bad! dang...well. the thing is that he is a jerk no matter how you look at it! i have an american bulldog. they are bred with terriers to get pit bulls. i think he is the sweetest dog in the world. pits are my FAV. breed and this idiot is just another example of why pits have such a bad name. this is ridiculous that this man is not in jail for the rest of his life. he should be made to fight himself with another dog. he's a piece of c**p. thank GOD the cops found him & i haven't met him, if so i'd feel bad for him that day.

  8. I looked at animalplanet.com and they are airing the vick special again Wednesday (tomorrow) August 27th at 9pm e/p.  you should really try to see it cause it was so great to see how the pits recovered. VICK IS A JERK! I'm glad he doesn't have any money anymore.

Btw, they have a ton of other cool stuff on the website.  they have a show coming out about that guy that got eaten by the grizzly bears!!! he's actually in it.  it's like his archive tapes or something. animal planet really seems to be changing and doing cooler shows.

    pits rule!

  9. I am so happy that the dogs got a second chance to prove they're not "killers" and that Micheal Vick had to pay all the fines he did.

There is a place reserved for him in h**l for what he did....and no amount of pretending to be sorry for it will help him avoid it.
