What are your thoughts on the European Grand Prix?

To be totally honest, it was boring! There was hardly any action. Of course I was pissed off when Nakajima ran into the back of Fernando and we had that pitstop incident involving Kimi, but other than that, nothing really else happened. Were u guys expecting better or not?

  1. the Race weekend was excellent, race was a little boring

Ferrari need to sort things out

got to hear that Ferrari are still unreliable

Just feel proud that Mclaren have to beat Ferrari + FIA + Race Stewarts to win the championship

  2. Isn't this usually TGBF's question? ;p Well, to be honest I didn't quite pay much attention to the race (I might catch a repeat though) Depends. Kimi was really disappointing and I'd really like to give him a good shake. Pit stop drama.... really. Ferrari had a really messy day and to be honest, it wasn't like Ferrari over the years. They must really miss Jean Todt. Dramatic and disastrous day for Ferrari really. Massa was the saving grace but if they come under investigation....

Poor Alonso, he might've been expecting to do better but Crashajima (heh heh...) didn't think so.

  3. Not repeating Massa pit problems, drove very well.

Yes boring, few overtakes, thought there would been a few.

Hamilton drove very sensibly, didn't get a rush of blood, well done.

Kubica drove around a difficult looking car, impressed.

    Kovalinen, solid but uninspiring.

Trulli drove his heart out again, cheered when he beat Kimi after Kimis pit ( hope mechanic is ok).

Vettel, driver of the day, champion of the future.

Glock, had good strategy, could of beat Vettel, though.

Rosberg, good to see him back in the points.

    Felt bad for Alonso too.

  4. My biggest concern is David Coulthard. He is one of the best ever at Monaco, but he finishes last of the running drivers here. It's disgraceful, actually.

  5. yeah i know Fernando Is god!!! he rules. Massa had a great rac though at least g*y lewis hamilton go first thats all that matters.

  6. Purple Cat, yes Top gear usually asks this one:)

IMO it was a total anticlimax. Yesterdays quali was full of excitement with the hint of an exciting race to come. There was talk of multiple safety cars blah blah blah and in the end the only 'excitement' to come out of the race happened in the pit lane. Nakajima has now officially taken the title of 'Crash Bandit' from Juan Pablo Montoya and DC had another bump (not his fault) and yet another one (possibly his fault).

I'm afraid this track has been crossed off my 'want to go' list. from what I heard all the corporate rich people had the best seats in the house and all the 'commoners' had 'blink and you'll miss it' seats all extortionately priced. Did you notice there were not that many boats? too high a price charged to dock, it will never never be another Monaco no matter how hard they try.

Its the people of Spain I feel sorry for, paying out loads of money for rubbish seats only to have Alonso Nakajima'd.

The right people were on the podium though, they all drove well.

  7. Quite possibly the worst and most boring race ever.  The FIA and the organizers need to rethink this GP as it is a boring race to have right after the three week break and it's not the prettiest looking track out there.  The camera angles were all weird and there was a lot of litter around the track.  I hope they improve things next year.

  8. boring, boring, boring, poorly designed circuit no overtaking, only incidents in the pits!!

  9. beautiful city, i liked the novelty of racing over a bridge, 25 corners is not something to brag about unless its on a 10 mile track, never mind the fact that i only counted 16 true turns, david coultard proved yet again that he should A) shut up & B) retire (wondering where his "forward facing eyes" were pointed this time), kimi being my fav driver is showing more and more why the alonso/ferrari rumors might come true, and for the "best drivers" in the world it sure doesn't look like any one was trying all that hard, even IRL drivers can pass at a street circuit, or at least push a guy into making a mistake

  10. Boredom, sheer boredom. Once Alonso and Nakajima had done their thing, it was just a question of seeing how long it would be before Kimi had enough for the day.

  11. .

I agree with the thoughts of Julian and Val.....I'd like to add though that I thought the crowd booing Lewis was very childish. If I was Spanish Iwould have cringed.

  12. Um, I don't think its called European GP, that one refers to a different circuit

Anyway, its just another monaco. claustrophobic, no drivers pushing to the limit to overtake

And sadly, Singapore GP will be the same, since its another street circuit with walls around everywhere

So, there you have it. 3 boring race now

And oh, did you hear that there were talks for yet another street circuit in London?

Fans should protest against street circuit or something. Its lame and retarded to race on street roads.

Go on race on real racing circuit. At least drivers can overtake there.

Street circuit are just for glamor purpose

  13. This was a boring race. As you say, hardly anything happened other than the usual contact at the start plus the pit lane issues.

Valencia is perhaps giving a poor first impression to fans of the sport.

I hope that Ecclestone's other town tracks to see "the sights" during the race aren't as boring as this one.

  14. Valencia was being heralded as a venue for overtaking. Well someone forgot to tell the drivers!

  15. I wasn't feeling this race

To be frank, Jackie Stewart's assessment of it being more of a dock than a harbour summed it up perfectly. I missed the start and most of the early action but i wasn't particularly entranced by the track or the yawn inducing lack of overtaking. Blah blah GP of the year hitherto I think

IMHO Kimi is DEFINITELY off, he was exceptionally nonchalant today, even more than normal. He seems to have inherited Hakkinen's Bored Finn title.

If this an example of the new tracks we have coming then Bernie all I can say is, Must Do Better

(Good to see you Val! x)

  16. I agree, everyone was hyping it up and then it turned out to be disappointing, but it did look a nice track. I just hope the night race at Singapore will be more exciting! Even though I'm not a fan of him, I did feel a bit sorry for Alonso retiring in the first lap in his home GP. I missed Massa's controversial pit stop as I switched over to the Olympic closing ceremony for a few laps, but I think the penalty should have more than the 10,000 euros by the sound of it. Looks like the championship is between Hamilton and Massa now as Raikkonen seems to have faded away.
