Question:

What are your thoughts on the forum where Obama and McCain were asked questions by Rick Warren?

I was going to vote for Senator Obama but after seeing his beating around the bush on answering the abortion question, his insults to Justice Clarence Thomas and how slow he was at answering the questions had damaged my trust in him. It makes me think he is hiding something. I also do not see him as a spiritually mature Christian, possibly even less that that to be honest. "Christian" means Christ-like. Would Christ think that 40 million abortions is anything short of an abomination or a holocaust?

Now, do you suspect that Senator McCain knew what questions he would be asked ahead of time? Did not he answer VERY fast for a politician and too fast for someone his age? Did he have a cell phone in that "cone of silence?'" Was he searched for cell phones? Is Mccain honest enough to not get messages by cell phone on the questions? Did someone leak the questions to him ahead of time?

Are you concerned that Senator McCain has no reservations about spending more money we do not have on Iraq and another war to defeat "evil?"' How much American and other blood do we need to shed for oil and weapon sales? There is much money to be made by selling American made, Russian made, UK made, French made, and Chinese made weapons to other nations to get wars going. No one wants to stop that it seems.

What will stop the buisnessmen from sending more and more jobs over seas? Tax breaks or no tax increases to the rich have no strings attached as of yet.

  1. One thing I like about obama is that he is thoughtful in what he says and does not shoot from the lip before the question is even fully asked. There has been so much killing done in the name of "christian" that I want to puke. There is a hugh difference in saying your are a christan and then actually acting like a christian. Obama was honest in what he said about Thomas. mccain on the other hand picked 3 liberal leaning justices. I guess he doesn't have a problem with conservatives legislating from the bench.

  2. Obama ducked and dodged, stumbled and backtracked throughout the whole show. But that was what I expected him to do. McCain smoked him, made him look like an idiot without a clue..

  3. Obama says he is a christian and a follower of christ.  that is all that really takes.  He comes up short in some areas, strong in others.  This holds true for everyone.

I do find it amusing that you distrust Obama for answering slowly YET you have problems with McCain answering quickly.  Damned if you do, Damned if you don't huh?

  4. Obama's true failure as an orator became abundantly clear.  I was consdiering voting for him...no longer.  He is not capable of leadership that is going to be required in the coming four years, especially given the emergence of Russian aggression.  He is simply not yet prepared and ready to take control of such dire international issues.  He is cute, and he is charming, and he does claim to want change, as do I, but it is just not his time.

  5. I thought rick warren did mc cain a big favor.

  6. Since when is being thoughtful and exploring, in the context of a discussion, many facets of an issue "beating around the bush?"

there are a lot of people today popping off about the forum last night that I don't think watched it.  You can read the whole transcript at http://www.clipsandcomment.com/2008/08/0...

  7. I'm answering your question about spending money in Iraq.  We are at war, and it costs money.  However, during this time when we were spending money on the war, the liberal democrats were playing games with Earmarks (pork barrel spending).  McCain referenced their foolish spending in his speech.  I'll include a link for you to see how the dems spend our tax money in a time of war - that's why I call them traitors.

P.S. Pelosi is invested with T. Boone Pickins, that's why she doen't want to drill - More conflict of interest.

  8. i liked the answers by McCain better,

    he did good,

"you defeat the evil" he said!

  9. yes we sell weapons for oil but then we make better weapons and obsolete the one's we sold and so life goes on

  10. I don't think either of them are Christ-like: Obama, McCain or even Warren: Obama and McCain are politicians, JESUS WOULD HAVE NEVER RUN FOR PRESIDENT or any other government position.

Rick Warren is so just after the money, can't you really see it? You are concerned that Obama is not a "mature christian". How can you possibly expect someone who encourages ignorance and distorts the word of God, like Warren does, to be even a genuine believer himself?

I think christians are better off following Jesus directly than belonging in fancy pants churches with greedy merchants sitting on top of everyone and charging up to 1 thousand dolars to let people enter a church.
