of course, it's a tragic situation that has cast a pall over the U.S. Olympic team.  Perhaps, it was done by the Chinese gov't to try to help get the U.S. medal count DOWN, especially the gold ones.  The attacker leapt to his death, creating an even bigger question in the minds of the ones who think it was just an isolated incident.  I have my doubts about it being anything other than China thinking of a way to make it a bad time for the U.S. team, and acting on it.  It's too suspicious!  Someone said that the attacker was a member of a democratic reformation front, which is even more puzzling because that would mean that the guy doesn't hate the U.S., since the U.S. is a democratic country, and against communism.

i think murder happens in all cities.  it seems to be a fact of life these days.  what does this all say about the world today?

very, very sad.  It seems like this was a random attack by a lunatic.  Maybe he was psychotic - who knows what his mental status was because he killed himself afterwards.

China devotes virtually nothing to social services. They have a lot of problems that they presently sweep under the carpet.
