  1. Skepticism is certainly healthy and mockery is a useful tool. Yet, I find a few elements of this 2012, that is disturbing.

The alignment, as noted in one responders answer, hasn't occurred in 26,000 years. The period of time for the full circle of the astrological charts, is 25,000 years (+-). The fact that the sun is entering a cycle of increased activity ( every 11 years ) in sunspots/solar flares, that will reach its maximum activity in 2012. And last, the recent behavior of the sun, with regards to unusual, reverse flow sunspots, something that happens when the sun is about to change its polarity.

These are all verifiable data. The unknowns?

The increase in gravitational pull on the earth, when Venus passes between us and the sun, or the other gravitational and magnetic forces that effect us from space.

Worse case scenario, that is hypothesis.......a reversal of earths magnetic fields or a tilt, of anything from 5 degrees to a devastating 30 degrees.

Don't need Nostradamus, or bible or Mayan calendar, to have an interest in this coming phenomena.

I'm sure the skeptics and quippy nay sayers, also don't believe there's an asteroid heading towards earth, that..........

well, if this scenario fails to materialize, watch for 2027.........

  2. For those who are wondering, some Biblical scholars have calculated all of the events in the Bible.  This includes Revelation.  They know the start of the world, when Jesus lived, and why the church age is at an end, and how the next step in God's plan is right around the corner since it is predicted in the Bible.  Anyway...  You state you are nervous.  If you DON'T believe in God, don't be nervous.  It doesn't matter to you because the world won't end, based on your belief system.  If you DO believe in God, don't be nervous.  Here is why:  Those who beleive in God should study the Bible, and pray for salvation.  If you do that, you should be at peace, and not nervous, because there is a plan.  If you aren't sure whether you believe or not, DO be nervous.  Make up your mind one way or the other to stop that, and follow your belief system; don't be a wimpy flip-flopper.  (By the way, you can't pick and choose what you like and don't like in the Bible.  If you believe some of the Bible, you must believe ALL of it). I am NOT nervous, but I am open minded.  I follow the Golden Rule, I say prayers, I listen to the excellent lessons taught in the Bible, and I listen to those who are smarter than I am.

  3. I think it's hogwash, but for those who are "true believers" in it, I'd suggest you buy a really expensive car, such as a Rolls-Royce or the like, in late 2011 on credit.  If you're right, you won't have to worry about being jailed for non-payment of your debt.  If you're wrong, have fun in court. :-)

  4. What?? What the h**l are you talking about???? Add details!! What are u talking about??

  5. Excerpt from an article In USA Today:

Part of the mystique about this comes from the stars.  The sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in approx. 26,000 years.  This means that "whatever energy typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way" will indeed by disrupted on 12/21/12 (winter solstice), at 11:11, universal time.

    Interesting, don't you think?

Of course there is no way to know if the Mayans knew anything about this celestial configuration, or if they did, if they assigned any special meaning to it.

But one can't help but wonder....!

  6. It is not the world that is going to end.  People think because the Mayan calendar does not seem to go past the year 2012 that it means we will die.  No!  It is our perceptions of time that will end as we know it!  That will be very interesting!

  7. kind of pissed. after all, i'll be graduating from college in 2012.

  8. Oh c**p the sun lined up with the moon! A meteor just crashed through the roof! Nader is president!  Aliens are popping out of my stom- OH MY GOD MY INTESTINES ARE ON THE FLOOR!!!!!!

  9. Can't wait!!!

  10. Maybe I'll email God and ask Him whether is this really true.

  11. It is destructive to believe that.

  12. It's BS.

  13. HO HO HO HO HO HO HO HO .. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA... HOR HOR HOR HOR HOR HOR HOR... HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HE....

  14. More end of the world garbage.  I'm still waiting for for the end that was supposed to happen at the turn of the millenium.

People are always predicting the end of the world ... looks like no one has gotten it right yet.

I predict that in 10 billion years the sun will explode and the earth will end ... who knows , I may be right.

  15. There's only 1 thing for certain....we'll find out!
