  1. If God is in everything, isn't it amazing how we differ so much from one another?  By the way, if God is also in the other guys, how come we love to teach them lessons?

  2. Every thing and everybody is placed equally in the world.

  3. In the Gospel of St. Thomas (which isn't in the Bible, but IMHO should be) it says that God is everywhere, all around us, in the grass, flowers, even in the air.  God permeates everything.

If each and every person behaved as if God were an integral part of every living thing that exists, at every moment we would be face to face with God.

Native Americans prayed to the Great Spirit to honor their brother the deer for giving it's life so the people could eat and live.  If we lived our lives that way, even thanking the plants (fruits and vegetables) that freely give of themselves for our sustenance, I think we would spend so much time looking at what is being done and given in our behalf we wouldn't have any time to do anything other than be grateful for every day of our lives.

Those are my thoughts on that phrase.

  4. Random thoughts...

It presupposes that there is a God.  It's open to wildly different interpretations.  It would force one, at a minimum, to at least consider the situation from the position of the other.

    My interpretation?

Living this way would force one to be humble.  We really are at the mercy of the natural world and are in great need of humility.  In our conceit and hubris we have forgotten the lessons of our past.

  5. I think its equality

  6. The first word in your phrase is "existing", this word means "being", "to be". To have "being" is "to live". When we are present to the moment in which we exist, we become true living beings, we matter. In those moments we truely exist. Then we see that everything matters, because everything is filled with God, is a part of God, sharing in the life of God. Yet how often are we in some dull state hardly aware of where we left our keys, or what we are saying, or how what we are doing effects others or the world around us?

I think to make a special effort to focus attention on the eternal present, and to become it, is what it would mean to exist "as if the God in everything mattered."

  7. MY BELIEF IS GOD IS WITHIN EACH OF US AND WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, YOUR ACTUALLY BELIEVING IN YOURSELF.

  8. There are spiritual qualities in all natural things. Nothing should be taken for granted or dismissed as small. Everything has a purpose - and should not be wasted. Respect yourself - respect your world.

  9. The head of the Genome Project said the following which illustrates your point:  "DNA is the language of God."

Bit shortsighted though, speaking as if only living things are "Godly".  God is an anthropomorphized analogy for purpose.  Everything has purpose, even lifeless rocks.  Humans just seem to have a difficult time figuring out their own purpose, the rock already knows its purpose (to go right in the middle of the snowball you throw at that mean kid who bullies you at school).   Therefore rocks must be closer to God than humans.

  10. lol, any thoughtful question and we're accused of asking for homework help :)

i think this phrase urges us to consider the creator found in every living thing.  where its origins?  what its purpose?  how it relates to other living things, environments, and places in the world.

the creator does not waste; all living things do have a purpose.  because we are not aware of it does not mean that it doesn't exist.  to be aware of the hand of the God Who made and shaped all that exists is to respect His will, respect His works, and care for them as we do for ourselves.  as we (in His likeness) matter, so do they, according to His wishes.  we are not above these rules; we are merely aware of them.

  11. my interpretation...

value each others thoughts (not just humans)
