  1. Dont forget about us.

    refill drinks etc...

    The more I see of you the better the tip will be

  2. Constant queries on our experience.  Someone who constantly stops by to see if there is anything else they can help you with makes everyone happy.

  3. I disagree with the first answer. I hate to be interupted multiple times during my meal.

    I like a waiter who keeps an eye on the table, refills drinks when needed, who is polite but not chatty, and who I can find when I'm looking for them (ie notices when person at the table is looking around for him/her).

    There's one restaurant that I eat at occasionally where the owner/lady in charge is always walking around looking at people eating. It's very annoying because one end of the restaurant is a dead end, so she can't even pretend to just be walking by....

  4. "well, the way they act, there personality, about how they serve your food and drink's ? from alan tiger . "

  5. Eye contact during the greeting; attentiveness and awareness of what we need at our table during the meal without hovering; a server who helps the kitchen time our food so we're not stacking courses or waiting too long between courses;

    That was more than a couple but all are critical in my book.

  6. First of all being greeted in a timely manner or at least being acknowledged.

    When I ask a question, he / she needs to be able to answer it immediately and professionally.

    Leave me alone, don't hover around my table, but don't make me have to ask for something - (paying attention to my table).

    It really depends on what type of place your in - Fine Dining, I have quite a bit more expectations.  I have been a waitstaff trainer in quite a few different styles and places - are you looking to become a waiter/waitress?  Or are you asking what to expect from a good one?

  7. Keep drinks filled!!!!!!  There's nothing more agrivating than needing a drink and having to crunch on ice.  Also, don't dilly-dally when it comes time to collect the bill- that's the last piece they'll remember so much of your tip could depend on that.
