What are some traditions you have with your mom or daughter, son etc? Like do you go and buy charms once a year for your charm braclets, do you have family night? I would really like to hear what you do and some ideas! Thanks so much!

  1. We do traditional holidays with my parents and then kid holidays at my home (wacky themed holidays such as "Pocahontas Christmas" where we eat native american foods and decorate the tree in the theme.) Each year a different child chooses the theme. Im currently collecting fairies and wings for next Christmas. We also have a family tradition of Sunday dinner with my parents. This occurs from April or May until early November. (my dad works near my home and my parents rent a home in the area for his work season. The rest of the year they live 200 miles away) We had instilled a yearly vacation but we missed this year due to my husbands medical issues. Smaller traditions include car spelling bee (each person says a word for someone to spell while driving to and from school .. Fridays we do math problems), family dinners together, church on Sunday, and family movie each evening. We also do camping trips every Memorial and Labor day with my parents.

  2. Hmmm christmas and easter would be the only ones for us unfortunately. I had wanted to start a tradition with my little family of going on an awesome holiday once a year, but our second pregnancy foiled that plan

  3. My son was born at 4:16 AM, so I wake up at 4 every year on his birthday.  Even though he's sound asleep, I pick him up and rock him as he turns another year older.
