  1. a7x is better now than when they screamed hands down.  The fact is I listen to a lot of screamo bands and a7x is much better off the way they are now than when they screamed.  If you want screamo there are much better bands that are of the post-hardcore genre, my current favs are Alesana, Alexisonfire, Scaring kids scaring kids, greeley estates, etc.

Moving on, a7x progressed, city of evil was one of my favorite albums ever.  I think they progressed in the right direction, screamo for them would have never amounted into any kind of commerical success and that's typically one of a bands macro-goals.

  2. Singing or screaming, they are all such talented musicians. Here's my view on their albums:

Sounding the Seventh Trumpet: Quite an impressive debut album. But without Synyster Gates & Johnny Christ it's just not the same. STST shows the true side of them. Going through the struggle of becoming a band, they had no money, driving in vans, getting sick and still playing like it was their last show. I used to not be a huge fan of screaming but now I absolutely love it. From the start you could tell this band was going stand out and be successful. (Favorite song would be The Art of Subsonious Illusion)

Waking the Fallen: Truely amazing. These guys really changed their style from their prior album but only for the better. With Syn's guitar solos that make me just melt in my shoes to Shad's raw screaming and fantastic singing voice. A7X really stepped it up. Syn & Zacky are guitar gods, The Rev beats the life out of those drums, Johnny is really on that bass with such control and I just love Matt's voice. (Favorite song: Second Heartbeat)

City of Evil: This album got so many more people looking at them. Although, old fans think they sold-out, I totally disagree. They just changed their style yet once again. They have quote they don't want to be the same band. COE is excellent. Without screaming they've earned and lost respect but M. Shadows has a remarkable voice. This album really introduced A7X to fame but they know how to handle it. (Favorite song: Sidewinder, M.I.A. or Trashed and Scattered)

Avenged Sevenfold: Much much MUCH different from the last album, the self-title album shows how they worked on their music but didn't work on a title. (haha.) They really experimented with their songs. They boys really worked like crazy to get this album perfect and did a great freaking job. A7X did not go "bad" or get worse. They're doing something different, they've come a long way and the talented guys they are they're sure to put out a lot more great stuff. (Favorite song: Unbound, Gunslinger, A Little Piece of Heaven)

No matter what Avenged Sevenfold does, I will always be by their side. (Or as close as I can get.) ;)
