  1. Charity begins at home, though I do do a lot of work for charity mate. (I've just finshed decorating the house)

  2. i support some yes but only ones i feel that actually  help where they say they do  too many i think are fakes

  3. It would be nice if u know that u can donating to the right cause and the money u actually put into are properly being used . Everyone who donates hope that this would happened . However in modern world , things are just a little too complicated .Simply by donating to a single charity sometimes don  t really benefits the people who needed it . Like in many cases that our aids  are "lost" along the line towards the needy . For example in sudan , large amount of aids are forcefully seized by military forces . Red tapes and bureaucracy  often consumed unnecessarily large amount . Even within the charity ,  there had been  cases where corruption occurs . There are many kind volunteers in the world sacrificing their life , career and  everything just so they can be with the needy in Africa and around the world fighting for the right causes , making tomorrow a better place for us . So if u are serious about helping charity , if u are not just comforting  your own conscience , then u should beyond just donating

  4. i give when i can#

  5. I am big on charity and community service.  While I don't usually contribute much in the way of money as I'm on a very tight budget, I do give of a lot of my time.  I've always been this way since childhood.  And I do mainly support those organizations that have the most meaning for me because it's impossible to support them all.

  6. I give when I am able to.

  7. I support some but others I would not as charity these days can be missused by the very people running them, so I m a little more wary and chose carefully.

  8. I support charities all the time, if not with my money then with my time, particularly those with a human interest element ie homelessness, terminal illness etc

  9. I do believe that charity starts at home so, any charity I do support would be in the UK.  And yes it would probably be a charity that has some meaning to me.  Being the mother of a disabled child, it would more than likely be a charity that supports those children.  but that is not saying I wouldnt support any other charities.

  10. i think they're a wonderful thing

    yeah

  11. My family supports three charities with twice a year contributions.  One is a foodbank/thrift store housed in our church.  The second is a grassroots community charity that helps families in genuine need.  The need may be financial or otherwise--wheelchair ramps, adaptive shower/bath installation, lawn care for the elderly and disabled, etc.   Every donation goes to direct service.   It is managed by tireless volunteers, and all administrative "costs" and needs are donated.  Third, we support St. Jude's Children's Hospital.   Some charities do amazing work with very little money coming in.  Others are top heavy with high paid employees in cushy offices who never even see those their charity supposedly serves with the 1 or 2 % left of each donation.  Things will not change in those areas until the public stops donating.  Before making any charitable donation, one must do their homework.

  12. I would willingly give what I can, but am bothered by tales re the misappropriation or misuse of funds.

I would rather give directly to someone in need if possible.

It's surprisingly easy to do that, just give and go away.  No strings attached nor effusive thanks needed.

Formally I always give tothe Lifeboat service, the Air Ambulance service and to poppies in November.

  13. England depends alot on Charities. I work with people who have a hearing loss and depend on Charities to improve peoples quality of life, e.g. CamTad will do home visits to clean & retube hearing aids, take batteries, Hearing dogs will provide dogs, LINK will support & visit ,RNID will provide information & equipment.......... the list is endless & thats only one group of people. As far as giving to charity I give when I can & like many its to the ones that intrest me.

  14. I have to believe in a charity before I will work for it or support it in any way, but there are a lot of wonderful works being done by charities these days. My favorite charity is St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  I had the opportunity to see first hand what wonderful success stories St. Jude produces when I stayed with my nephew while he underwent radiation at St. Jude.

  15. I am a Life Member of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution because it relies completely on public funding, and the lifeboatmen risk their lives every time they go out to assist people who are at risk.

My husband supports Macmillan nurses with a monthly contribution.  They do so much to help people with life-threatening illnesses.
