What are your views on the Chrysler Building's recent sale to Abu Dhabi?

Is the selling of a building so symbolic of the greatness of America, and her ability to aim towards unfathomable skies almost 80 years ago, a metaphor for America losing its place at the top of greatness today?

What are your views?

  1. Sign of the times.

Get ready for alot more of that.

  2. I think pretty soon this will not be the USA anymore because other countries are buying everything up soo. It will be part china, part japan, part german ect... We are behind in science, technology, and everything that you can think of.

  3. The Republicans are selling off our country. It's very sad. In other countries, you can't take more than x amount of money out of the country, you can't buy land without being a citizen. But here pretty soon we'll start selling national parks and reserves.

  4. They gonna buy Manhattan next. Keeping it real. If they own it, maybe they won't blow it up.

  5. American landmarks have been owned by foreign corporations for decades.  How is this different?

Germans, Australians, Brits, French, Japanese, etc. all own siginificant properties across this country.

  6. Nope,

Sounds like someone from Abu Dhabi, just bid more for the building, than any american bidder did.

Just like when the japanese were buying up realestate in the 1980's.

They found, they cannot take it back home with them.

So who really cares who owns the building ?

Heck, we should try and sell the grand cayon, if we could get someone to pay a trillion dollars for it.

It's not going anywhere, now is it ?

  7. I think its great,$$ talks, bullshit walks.now I would get upset if the White House or the Lincoln memorial or any other national site was sold.how about slick willy (clinton) renting the lincoln bedroom for $$,that really pissed me off. dude, get a grip, private property is always for sale.grasp that concept !
