  1. This is a very good question that can be answered many different ways.

As a girl, I, of course, find women's soccer(football) much better than the mens for many reasons. A lot of men's games consists too many "fouling" or what I would call acting. Women on the other hand tend to just get up and keep playing. Also, women soccer here in the USA is a lot more dominant than the men's side which is a big boost. However there are things about the womens side that are problems. That pace of game is much slower than men's (well most of the time). The women tend to play better because most countries only have a national team so they have to prove themselves to make a 25 roster team out of hundreds of thousands. I find professional men take their club teams for granted because there are so many leagues for them to play in.

I played co-ed until I reached U-13. Then I moved to U-16 Girls team. I find it better for girls to play with boys at a younger age because you learn to play rough and be aggressive. Although every girl goes through the time where the boys don't pass because your a girl period, I think it makes the girl player stronger mentally and physically.

On the encouraging side, the USA is starting the WMLS in the Spring of 2009. It will be a major league soccer for women, and hopefully open the door for women in the sport more.

I agree it needs to be encouraged like men's, but unfortunately many people believe women aren't good enough.  That would be a problem with the world.

  2. I play football and there are only about 5 teams in my town, and i found my club through a friend not by a leaflet or an advert. To encourage more girls to play that is what they should be doing, more advertising, handing out leaflets. It is rare that you girls in club jackets but you see most lads wearing them so girls team i think should have a club jacket from there team to show it off and advertise the team as well. And boys make a to bigger fuss when they here that a girl plays football!

  3. because girls/women should be doing el queacer instead

  4. They have every right to play as the as you say"men".Football hasn't been a man's game for a long time, and the women sometimes show the babies up sometimes. The women don't fall about screaming every 2 minutes....they don't spit the dummy out when the ref isn't on their side...and the games,i've seen normally last 90 minutes, unlike the babies which normally last around 96 minutes.....

  5. because women should be in the kitchen washing mens pants

  6. I think if women's football was to be publicised more then it would encourage more girls to play! I find its a very good sport to get involved with because its a great ways to get fit and healthy and a great way to meet new people and make friends. Whenever i get my friends to play they always say how much fun it is.

But we do need more girls teams as there's not many in my area.

I think its not encouraged as much as the men's game because it's seen as a mans game. Women's football is growing though which is a good thing and more people are watching games when they are shown on TV (which is very rare!!!)

If womens football is going to be more popular more money is going to have to speant on it and its going to have to be seen a male and female sport!

The Fa are looking to raise the wages of professional women's players which is good!

I hope Women's football does get more popular cos its a really good sport!
