It could be the service you receive from a waiter/waitress.

You met someone there and fell in love or forgot your wallet and had to do the washing up to pay for your meal or Work at a restaurant and you gave a good service or bad service.

The meal was terrible. I want to hear your stories. It can be all restaurants from fast food to posh to cafe to mobile cafe or take aways.

  1. It was at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney.  Our waitress never came back. Not for anything. Our food never arrived. A family of eight next to us were served there food. It was only three in my party. Me and my two children.  The staff kept walking past us and didn't ask if something was wrong. Finally I got up walked to the front desk and demanded to know where are food was.  They told me "oh we'll go get her".  Still about five minutes later she arrives with food. Walks off again and never comes back.  Rainforest Cafe adds 18% on your bill automatically for a tip and they wouldn't take it off.  I was mad, I was steaming. And I'm an easy going person.  But that really was the worst service ever.  The family of eight had been long gone by the time we left. They had a different server and we had waited in line together when we first got there.

  2. okay. get this one. My dad was reading the menu and i asked him to move his arm so i could open mine. The glass ketchup bottle was near me. My dad didn't move so I tried to open my menu. The ketchup bottle fell and everyone stared at me. The janitor people were cursing underneath their breath. How's that for embarrassing!?

  3. My mother and I were in Greece. We sat down in a restaurant and ordered stuffed peppers, but when she put the knife into it a syphon of oil spewed out of the thing like a artery had been cut. My mother said she would not pay for the thing because it was disgusting, a row broke out and the cook ended up chasing us down the road with a knife in his hand.

  4. Many a memorable meal about the world but the most memorable and the place I kept returning to and will always want to return to is in a town called Calella in Spain, between Barcelona and Girona. The restuarant is called La Roda, it has queues outside every night, and though the town has a fair sprinkling of tourists, 95% of the clientele in this place are Spanish, always a good sign ;)  And basically they just do chicken, but man, what chicken, marinaded  in Lemon juice, garlic & blck pepper and then wood fire roasted out the front of the place, it is simply divine. The atmosphere inside is something of a cave with stunning chattering and energy. To compliment the chicken (which you orer in halves) are Jamon, chees, anchovies and potato crisps from a packet-and that's it. Service is familiar and friendly and as a little treat, with the bill you get a little chocolate magnum-free!

  5. I was on a date and ordered the clams in red sauce.  Bad clams and white table cloth....never saw her again.

  6. worst it was closed, best it was closed I dont like french food

  7. my worst experience was finding sticky snot and boggies on my hand from pulling the chair in towards the table.  Then when we got our lunch there was a little fruit fly squished in my salad.

I felt very queasy and could'nt eat it.

Im not one for complaining but i did say that i was sorry i couldnt eat it but the thought of all that extra unwanted protein put me off.  Needless to say i've never been back!

  8. Many a good meal around the world, to be complimented on.

However in Paris of all places, supposedly reknowned for cuisine, I had the most disgusting item.

It was on the menu as roast pigeon with sauteed veg

It was a whole charred pigeon from the roof, complete with eyeballs & tail feathers, and the few small spuds were just globs in lard.

I did not pay the £20 asking price at this "posh" restaurant, and had good old jambon across the street !

Why are folks so gullible sometimes ?

    Bob

  9. The best experience I had was in a cafe when I was 15. A friend of a friend worked as a photographer for a girls magazine and I took part in a photo story about some friends robbing each others boyfriend lol.  We had to pull angry faces and point at each other, and there was this dodgy chef looking angst in the background.  It was a good experience because it made us laugh and because I got paid £70 for 5 mins of fun in 1989 hehe :-)

  10. A group of us went for lunch in the O*** Lounge in Edinburgh, very posh and expensive, we had made a reservation the week before.

We waited almost an hour for the last of the meals to arrive, everyone got there's at different times, the hostess got hers last and it was cold, we never did get our drinks.

Needless to say we didn't go back.

  11. worst is having to wait any hour(literally for my food) i was so pissed and didnt give any type of tip. Best was the service came quick and fast, and it was my birthday lol
