  1. I went to Hawaii 3 years ago. I'm going again this summer! I've been on 13 hour plane rides to China too. About every other summer. What I do on planes are watch the in-flight movies on the personal entertainment systems. They have about 6-8 movies and many TV shows. Such as CSI and Seinfeld. Check your airlines website and you can see exactly what your airplanes entertainment system is playing during your flight. You can also play games on these planes. I know on Continental you can play solitaire, blackjack, caveman, etc. Otherwise bring something like an iPod. It's much easier to sleep when you're listening to music than the crying baby down the aisle. If you have a laptop with mulitple batteries, or sometimes just one. You can watch your own personal dvds on it. Go to Blockbuster. Remember, a movie can kill about 2 hours. Make sure it's a good movie though! The least thing you want to do is make yourself even more bored.

P.S. Bring a soft pillow. Such as a moshi pillow or one of those neck pillows. Have fun in Hawaii! It's BEAUTIFUL!

  2. watch the inflight entertainment, bring your own laptop to watch movies, sleep, portable gaming device, look at the sky

  3. You can buy portable games designed specifically for things like car rides and plane trips. You can get mini "Sorry", "Yahtzee", and "Risk" games for example. Do a search for them online. Try "portable games" or "games for travelling" in the search engine.

Also, listen to music. Do you have an iPod? Make an "I'm going to Hawaii" playlist and put some Bob Marley on there and lots of other tunes that remind you of tropical weather. It'll get you more excited to go!

Depending on what flight you're on, you can usually get movies to purchase (if the screen is in front of you). You just need a credit card and headphones.

Do you like Sudoku? Cross word puzzles? Writing poetry or writing letters? These are all good things you can do on a flight.

If you have some extra cash sitting around, buy a mini dvd player or a hand held video game device. You're definitely going to lose track of time with one of those bad boys.

I know you said you don't like reading, but it doesn't have to be a book. Buy a magazine you're really interested in. You can find magazines about almost any topic you're interested in: guitar, sports, video games, s*x *hehe*, cartoons, weddings, fashion etc.

Have a great flight. It's long and boring (I've flown it) but you'll get through it. Take some chewing gum for the landing, the change in elevation is intense when you land in Hawaii. My ears popped repeatedly ;)

  4. The only 2 things you can do is sleep or read. Since you don't want to read you can sleep or look at the ocean from 36 thousand feet.

  5. Okay.  During moments of alertness.  They offer many options.  If you don't like to read...you may choose music, movies, eating, taking your own gaming device or DVD choices.  Do you have an iPod?  You will want to sleep to make up for the hour changes.  Enjoy, it is not that bad.
