My friends and I are traveling to Montreal and arn't sure of which area to book a hotel in. Does anybody know which part of Montreal has the best night life (clubs, bars, etc.)?

  1. The downtown core, from Bishop Street to Guy Street, are where most of the clubs and bars are located. If you stay at a hotel in that area, you can walk to the bar, party all night, and wobble back to the hotel. You won't have to pay for a taxi, won't use the car and get stopped for a DUI.

Take a look at the Metro (subway) station maps and they will show you hotels that are around the Peel or Guy subway stops. Keep in mind they may be a bit pricier than a place in the east end of Montreal, or on the outskirts, since you are in the "happening" location.

Just a word of advice though. Keep an eye on your drinks (can you say "roofie"?), and stay with your friends unless your intention is to be "naughty". Many of the guys trolling the nightclubs in Montreal are only after one thing.

  2. Youth hostels

  3. The best area for night life is on and around Crescent Street. There are plenty of hotels in the area. Go to www.google.com and type in "Montreal Accomodations". Just about any hotel  down town is within walking distance (and Montreal is about the safest city I know for walking). Hotel de la Montagne is really in the heart of the bar/club area.
