I am planning to view the Solar eclipse on August 21 2017 but want to view it from a location that is unlikely to have cloud cover on the day of the eclipse.

This site has maps of the path of totality for the eclipse

I am trying to find the sunniest location for the eclipse based on yearly averages of sun and clouds for different locales.

Can you find websites that show average cloud cover for these areas during August?

  1. My vote is for Idaho.  August in the Pacific Northwest is generally nice, but Idaho has hotter, drier days - less clouds.
