  1. In Paris is Canal St-Martin. It opened in 1825, once the main artery for the transport of goods and materials to the north of Paris, and now, supposedly, where the displaced mass of Bohos, Bobos (Bourgeois bohemians) and NoHo (No Hope) artists has decamped to.

    For Tokyo

With its avant-garde crafts stores, funky T-shirt shops, and hipster boutiques, this pedestrian strip, also known as Cat Street, serves as a showcase for Japan's au courant designers and artisans. Cat Street is the place to experience bohemian Tokyo in all its exuberance. Subway: Chiyoda subway line, Meiji Jingu-mae Station (Exits 4 and 5).
