Question:

What area should I protect during a fight?

In other words, where is the most effective area on your body to hit someone?

I'm about to sign up for a boxing class and I'm nervous about getting clocked in the wrong area.

What area will really bruise? If I were to take this hit, would everyone tell?

What area winds a person?

Where is the most painful area to take a punch, and what will stun the person?

Is there any area on my body that, if hit, could result in death?

Thank you...

  1. always keep your chin down and your guard up..never take your eyes off your opponent..

  2. I'll try to send you a picture of a boxing stance(if i can find my camera) but genraly try to prtect your face, chest and gut will wind you, try to make puches go into your obliqes. sides of ribs,  but if you dont know this stuff, why are you sighning up, but they might teach you it in there.

  3. I am very lean, but I make up for it in height, so i generally try to protect my body, I also protect my head, but i focus on my body the most because most of my opponents are shorter than me(and cannot reach my head if i keep them at a distance) and will usually go for my lean torso as it would be the easier target. In the end, I would say it sort of depends on your body type and height, and whether your a brawler or counter-puncher.

  4. if your in a boxing 'class' r not gonna get hit.

only if you want to fight competitively will you get hit, then it is called sparing and it'll take around 2 month before you spare, maybe more depending on how many days you train.

    so dont worry.

and by the way, who cares what other people think.

i meet famous boxers, and i say 'its cool to meet them, but i'm my own fighter'

    dont worry about them

theres no way you'll die from it. trust me, no you spare is gonna it 1% that hard

  5. Always protect your face.(duh) if you get hit in the chest hard enough it hurts and u can get the wind knocked out of you but if you get hit in the head you get disoriented even if its not a hard blow. it may lower ur ability to fight back for a few secs, taking a hit on the arms hard enough but its alot better than a facial shot

  6. Protect your nose if your worried about everyone being able to notice but my opinion is knock away puches has you see them coming and keep moving in a non pattern because you dont want a boxer figureing out your pattern cuz he'll clock you

  7. In boxing you will get hurt no matter what but the most part you should protect are the ribs and stomach because the stomach will suficate you and the ribs will hurt but you should just try to block all punches.

  8. you want to protect all of yourself.

Where you will bruise most is different for everyone.

Probably the most painful punch is a hard punch to the sternum.

Getting hit in the back of the head could result in death but this is not permitted in boxing at all and is a serious offense if it occurs.

Most important rule of boxing is to protect yourself at all times
