It depends what you mean by best. Best for investment, or best for lifestyle? For how many people? Cosmopolitan lifestyle or suburban family house? Is public transport important? or schools? Where is work - near work saves a lot of tedious commuting? Near the beach or the mountains? Economical or prestige?

Places in the Inner West such as Ashfield, Burwood, Croydon, Strathfield, Drummoyne and Concord. They have low crime levels and close to the city. Housing prices are alright in this area.

I live south of this region. Different story here. Higher crime levels.
