  1. Hong Kong is generally a safe city.  If this is your first time, suggest you stick to the tourist areas - Tsim Sha Tsui in the Kowloon side, or Central, Wanchai, Causeway Bay in the HK Island side.  Stay in 3 star or high hotels.  Stay near the subway lines offer better commute.  Check out the office HK Tourism site at http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/inde...

Enjoy the city, the food, the shopping and the sights.

  2. hi there

hong kong is one of the safest city's in the world every where you go you will find armed police, undercover police all willing and very nice to talk to if u have any problems i stayed in the panda hotel well away from the city centers but very near to the subway so very Continent, they locals say to stay away from the hotels in the very busy tourist areas as these are the ones targeted by the thieves, just be sense able and don't carry your money in your back pocket but then again i didn't find anything worrying about the place and had a wonderful time really it comes down to what you make it , enjoy it and you will, worry and you will but remember your on holiday its spose to be fun !!!!
