I feel great artwork can be valuable for a number of reasons. The skill of the painter sometimes but I feel the way the art makes us feel is what moves us the most. If the image doesn't move us immiediatly then the story behind the picture should be all the more interesting and if the art work itself doesn't offer a good story then the story behind the painter will determine the value of the work they do.

What artwork has the most value to you and why?

  1. Artwork that makes me feel a connection to the subject,a new artist or a Master.I think Art is inspired by God through the eyes and hands of an artist to describe the Human Condition we all have.Example "Starry,Starry night" by Van Gogh reminds me of my deceased sister. When we were kids  we would look at the night sky and pretend we were stars.I swear the sky looked like the painting. His sad life and the sadness of losing her are in that picture, but the comfort is she is dancing in the sky and I can still feel her.How could he have know if not in pain of seperation from being loved or loving or inspired by God who is the Master's Master of all Art.
