  1. Mercury/Uranus challenging aspects, Mercury/Moon challenging aspects, Mercury/ sun challenging aspects.

  2. Mercury in tough aspects with some of the other planets would attribute to this, in particular, the conjunction, square and opposition aspects. This is esp. true if Mercury is in conjunct with outer planets like Neptune or Uranus/Pluto. Mercury conjunct Uranus or Pluto would give a penchant for extreme innovation and creativity but also that of destruction, unreliability and unpredictability etc.

Mercury opposite such powerful planets would indicate that there are likely to be sudden, drastic breakaways from the old patterns of thinking etc..all this in a flash, which could lead to much confusion and tension for the native and those around him. Mercury in hard aspects to Neptune would also arouse the dreaminess and illusive qualities of Neptune, making the native difficult to tell apart fact from fiction, dreams from reality at times

And of course having Mercury in mutable signs - esp Gemini & Sag - would add on to the restless and fickle-minded nature of some individuals, if there arent enough influences to ground the native.

  3. Hmm..this is a tough question. I think it has to do with the alignment of certain planets. Like for example lets say your rising sign is in Gemini, it could make it harder for you to focus on one thing at a time. Sagittarius also has a hard time deciding what to do when faced with a challenge.

  4. Basically I agree with everything Astro Lady says... since you didn't explain exactly how you have trouble concentrating, I will add that Neptune aspects to your Mercury can make you more of a space-y dreamer... but a Uranus aspect could rev up your mind and make your thought dash all around... Mars conjunct your Mercury could really rev up your thinking to the point of non-stop thought...

Hope that adds a little something to help you...

  5. Just adding--Mercury too close to the Sun-called Combust (depending on who you listen to between 3 and 10 degrees) said to be debilitating--hard to separate rational thought from ones ego
