What aspects in romantic relationships (synastry) gives clues to an abusive relationship?

Ive always felt if a man is nonresponsive to tears..that is not a good sign.  I am not saying he has to agree with whatever the argument is about, but just the coldness of a nonresponsive partner to that level of emotion, I dont find that to be a good  sign.  Yes, Im aware there are drama queens who can turn it on and off, but Im talking in relation to a real tear versus manipulation.  Has to be real.
