Question:

What aspects would cause two supposedly "skeptics" to need to validate each other?

Isn't it hypocritical for certain persons to preach about consensus bias when they are guilty of it themselves?

Could this be a matter of chart synastry between them from hating the same thing?

  1. Yes, there's definitely some consensus bias going on among the skeptics who accuse us of this very thing.

OR as alwaysmovingforward wrote, "Maybe the charts are exact?!

    That would be my guess...'

    LOL!!!!

  2. I suppose astrology believers aren't in lockstep agreement. Like religion, it is okay to dismiss others as long as you don't doubt your own. Doubt is like a loose thread. You can ignore the flaw. But remove it and the garment may fall apart.

  3. Lol. Viking and me are one and the same. Just because I'm part Swedish?

When you have superior evidence, you will have little skepticism. When you have no evidence, it is called speculation.

"It seems to me what is called for is an exquisite balance between two conflicting needs: the most skeptical scrutiny of all hypotheses that are served up to us and at the same time a great openness to new ideas … If you are only skeptical, then no new ideas make it through to you … On the other hand, if you are open to the point of gullibility and have not an ounce of skeptical sense in you, then you cannot distinguish the useful ideas from the worthless ones."

  4. I'd say two people who have been screwed over a lot in life and have trust issues.

  5. Yes, it is hypocritical, but then that's to be expected in this situation...apparently it's as easy for skeptics to lob tidbits of hack logic they cut and paste from crappy websites as it is for wannabe astrologers to lob tidbits of hack logic they cut and paste from crappy websites.

I doubt chart synastry has much to do with it, but this could be another example of that persnickety "multiple personality disorder" that runs rampant in YA where one person with two accounts talks to himself/herself and gives him/herself BA for incredulous answers.

  6. lol....hmm...not an expert but I am fascinated by your question! ;)

I will give it a star and see if we can't get any others to try to answer!

LOL! (really) it is funny though isn't it? Maybe the charts are exact?!

That would be my guess...though I am not an expert......lol!
