What attractions should I see in Florence? How much does it cost?

I have been there twice...The Duomo you can't miss, the Spanish Bridge, The David's, yes there are three. One in Michelango's Plaza, one in the ufizi square, and one in the medicci mueseum.The last is the real one. The Leather markets East of the Duomo are big. The absolute best restraunt is Trattoria le Mossacce's, this is located south of the Duomo. Also an amazing afternoon trip is up into the mountain town of Fiesole, you will see it on the map, take bus 7 i believe, this may have changed htough. Amazing view over Florence. Everyhitng in Italy is pricy so be ready to spend some cash. Oh and the tobacci shops are where you buy bus tickets, no longer on the bus. Don't get caught without one. Last thing, if you like huge gardens, there is a big one south of the duoma across the river, the name has not come to me, but on a map you cant miss it.

We are leaving for Florence tonight. We were recommended to see:

Uffizi Gallery (statue of David), Accademia Museum (Renaissance art), Duomo (unbelievable cathedral), Boboli Gardens, the old bridge, just to name a few. All the museums charge an admission fee, between 8.50-11 Euros.

If you mean Florence Italy, you should definitely check out the Ponte Vechio bridge market, the Cathedral, and as many of the museums as you can take. I haven't been since the Euro has been introduced, but I remember that a lot of things were free or just requested a donation. You will most likely have to pay admission to the musesum housing Michalgenlo's David.

You've already got a few tips about Florence.

However,just to avoid you any misunderstanding I would like make some correction to above answer given by Joe. I guess he should visit Florence for the third time since he shows having made some ...confusion.

1.- He suggests you to visit the Spanish Bridge. He has made propably a mix up with Spanish steps of Rome since the most famous bridge in Florence is the "Old Bridge" (Ponte Vecchio)

2.- The real statue of the David is located in the Accademia Gallery (Galleria dell'Accademia) and not in the Medici's museum.

3.- The leather market is located in piazza San Lorenzo but quality of bags,wallets, ect. is not that good.

4.- The trattoria Le Mossacce is just renowned because of the waiters' bad behaviour and rude talking, that's for a lot of people, myself included, also a bit annoying. There are 1000 better places for eating well in the city.

5.- The huge garden he's referring to is the famous Boboli's garden (Giardino dei Boboli) just beyond the Pitti Palace (Palazzo Pitti).

Almost all the places in Florence are costly to enter them (you'll pay from 3 till 15-20 Euros) but all are worthy with a visit. It's depending on how long is yr visit and how high is yr budget (as well as which are yr top interests) to determine of the amount you'll spend there at the end but whichever will be I'm sure you'll be happy.

However I've a good tip for you that's absolutely for free. You know, Florence is not that big city and highlights are mostly concentrated in a space of a 2 square miles. If you've good legs walk the medieval town, over there any building and any corner have interesting things to be seen that are costless.

Walk it early in the morning or late in the night (Florence it's a very safe city) and if you are in the proper mood, I'm sure you'll hear the ancient walls and the buildings in the narrow streets whispering you the multicentenarian history of this awesome town.

This will cost you nothing, just the walking's strain, but you'll have something really special to remember about Florence.
