  1. A tip on Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel - you probably won't get in because you'll kill yourself waiting if you go by yourself. The best way is to go in with a tour guide (they skip the line) (and the line is looooooooooong). If you decide to skip on the Museum do go to St. Peter Basilica (it holds the most amazing Bernini works - the things he did with old shaking hands are incredible) - it is free and the line is not that long at all (make sure you are waiting in the right line though - you need to get inside the Vatican City to wait in line for the St. Peters).

  2. One of the charms of Rome is just walking around and seeing old temples and buildings and plazas fountains etc all free, can turn a corner and stumble across an excavation of an old temple, here is some stuff to check out you :

Free stuff -- the Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, numerous Plaza's,  Pantheon, Capitoline Hill, Plaza de San Pietro (ST. Peter) St. Peter Basilica (4 euros to go up in the dome), Aventine Hill, Circus Maximus, Appian Way (closed to cars on Sunday) Lots of churches some with sculptures by Bernini and Michaelang, Largo Argentina, Transferee district, Campo de Fiori, Pantheon.

Stuff withAdmission fee: Colosseum 7 euros, Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel 9 euros, be prepared to wait on line a long time (free last Sunday of the month) . Capitoline Museum 4 euros , Palantine Hill 4 euros, Catacombs of St. Callisto 4 euros

This is only scratching the surface there are plenty of other things -- you could easily spend a couple of weeks there and all ways find some different to check out.

    It's  a fabulous place enjoy!

  3. I am curious myself... I really dont want to see the cathedals too much, but i know rome is full of ccol stuff
