Four girls wanting a mix of geeky stuff, shopping, historical things, booze, clubbing, maybe a beach day and general fun.

Any recommendations for the above ideas?

  1. check these links

For a cheap night out try Zold Pardon (ZP) not sure if its still open in september. 200 forint for entry, with concert and disco after.

There are a few malls here also (look for Arena Plaza, Mammut or West End City Center) Mom park also and the cinema has English versions on movies

Geek stuff, lots of museums etc and monuments, you will fall over these just walking around.

  2. My husband and I were just in Budapest on vacation.  Geeky stuff:  I highly reco the Hungarian National Museum.  I loved going chronologically through all the rooms and discovering the very interesting history of Budapest.  For a "beach day" I would reco the Széchenyi bath house.  Others are maybe "older or more authentic" but I also think not as fun for a group of gals.  They're really inexpensive but GORGEOUS and have the largest outdoor pool area.  So that is kinda like the "beach day"/ Budapest style. :-)  3 Huge pool areas outside of various temperatures, year round.  Foor "boozing" depends on what you're looking for, but there are bars and pubs on every corner!  If you're into wine, there's great Hungarian wines you can get really inexpensively.  Or, if you're looking for liquor there's Unicum (I didn't really like it...) or Palinka which I really liked, it is basically Hungarian brandy, and you can get it in all different fruit flavors.  I'm not sure if you're still looking for a place to stay, but we rented an apartment from a guy who lives in Budapest and he met with us when we arrived and had a map he gave us and we told him what we were interested in donig and he marked places off on the map for us!  It was great.  His name is Tomas and the apartments he rents are really reasonable and listed here:  http://www.budapest.hoteltargets.com/  He has 3 apartmenst really centrally located and easy to get to everywhere from the public transport.  (Weekly ticket less than 20 Euro and you can ride everywhere in town.)

    Have fun!
