What audience does Desperate Housewives attract?

I am a male and gather with my male friends often. Some say they are into a show called Desperate Housewives that I have never watched, but they rave about it.

Some tell me it's directed at a female audience. Any opinions ?

Its nothing special to get attracted.

This serial is like any other  soap,

just to kill  time,  when they do not

have much work to do.

Personally I think it's a trash show about a bunch of neighborhood *******s that have no morals or personal values.

If a show has good production values, good writing with lots of humor, and a good cast - in that order, it will interest anyone who is interested in life - how people react under different circumstances. It is a feet-up course in sociology and psychology. There are no feminist, q***r or  socialist agendas at work here.  What's not to like?

Its a show about middle aged s***s. So I think guys might like it if they like middle aged s***s. And girls might like it if they are a middle aged **** or want to become a middle aged ****. Some might want to watch it to see what its like to be a middle aged ****. And finally, some s***s in general probably watch it to justify their slutiness.

Thats just my guess from what I've seen in commercials, I wouldn't actually watch it being that I dont like **** shows.
