What audition song would go well for "The Fiddler on the Roof"?

Unless they've specifically asked for a song from the show, don't use one.  What is your voice type, and what part are you auditioning for, as that will make a difference to what you should sing.  I'd be looking at "classic" musical theatre - maybe something by Rogers and Hammerstein, or even go back to Gilbert and Sullivan.  Fiddler is a little bit of an oddity in that it doesn't really fit in with many other shows - it's pretty unique in terms of its style.

Are you allowed to use music from the play?  Otherwise you need to pick a song that shows your range both vocally and emotionally, because Fiddler is a very emotional show.

A really good idea is to sing a song written by the same composer. Have you ever heard of the musical The Apple Tree? I believe it was written by the same composer and has the same style of oddity to it. There are many songs in that show that is pure brilliance. I don't know if you're a guy or a girl but I'll name you the numbers. If you're a leading man sing Beautiful, Beautiful World, or It's A Fish, or Eve. If you're a character actor sing The Apple Tree(Forbidden Fruit). If you're a female belter there are songs like:  Here in Eden, Gorgeous, and I've Got What You Want. If you're a legit female, sing Friends, Feelings, What makes me love him and even Wealth might work.
