Golfing great Severiano Ballesteros received a Lifetime Achievement award at last year's event. The 52-year-old Spaniard, who was still recuperating from brain surgery, was presented with the award in recognition of his contribution to the game. Ballesteros won five majors over a 33-year career, winning the Open three times and the Masters twice. He also played a key role in helping five European teams win the Ryder Cup, even captaining the Europeans to victory on his home turf in 1997.
