What background does an EPA criminal investigator typically have?

I'm curious as to what type of an education is preferred when reviewing an individuals application for a position as a criminal investigator for the EPA. What type of majors do they prefer and what kind of work experience is commonly sought after.

primarily law enforcement. they will require a BS Degree  there are enough biologist at the EPA to tell them what to investigate. they need and understanding of what they are looking for but typical college GE will give them that back ground
