What bags do kids use at high school?

Question

My daughter is 11 and starts high school in a couple of weeks, what sort of bag does she need? Ive seen a jane norman one on ebay (shoulder bag) ? what sort of bags do teens use,what make?

Up until the age of 13/14 most students at my school used backpacks of varying styles and colours.

However, after that shoulder bags become the norm, such as the Jane Norman ones you mention, or the ones that Primark does for £2 (and having a £2 bag means that you can buy a new one when you get fed up of the old one). H&M also do some good ones for £8 or so.

To be honest, I used a backpack, alot of kids used them, some used shoulder bags but with the amount and weight of the books that kids are forced to carry (there was a major health issue at my high school) the back pack was definatley healthy for the back.

yep jane norman bags are fine. lots of girls wear them for school. i don't i just have the pull string ones, a nike one. hope this helps and good luck. =)

shoulder bags are h**l on your shoulders and posture overall. imagine putting one textbook in a shoulder bag. the whole textbook weighs down the shoulder, however by using a regular backback the weight is then balanced out on both shoulders.

your daughter is growing so backbacks are a good idea, many kids wear backpacks at highschool.

She'll need a big bag cos she's gonna get a lot of books.... if its one of the big Jane norman bags that will be fine.

Mine used a  canvas satchel type bag last year but for the coming year, she has brought herself a backpack with sculls and crossbones all over it - but then, she's not yet a fashion victim and has some wierd ideas!

Most children in their first year use backpacks (billabong etc)

However a shoulder bag (like Jane Norman, Roxy etc) or Even the ones you get out of Primark for £4.00 or River Island/Topshop shoulder bags "tote bags" that's what most teens use these days
