A slice of hotdog works really well. Trust me don't use the walmart stink bait.

dont go through that trouble use chicken livers!!!!

Stinkbaits or chicken livers.  Fresh livers are best.  Mainly anything that has a strong scent or a bloody texture.  Molded cheese works well too.  Tight lines.

mmkay this is ganna sound pretty gross but it works, i swear!  you gotta catch another fish first, it dont matter what it is, gut it, and chop the body into a few pieces.  put the guts in a piece of orange bag and tie the top (you know, the bags you get oranges or lemons in with all the little holes in it).  attatch it to your line, then put a chunk of the fish body on your hook about a foot to foot and a half under the gut bag (that is the grosest word ever....gut bag...LOL!).  the guts will attract the catfish, then they'll notice the fish chunk and go for it!  its like a feeding frenzy, it works so good!  awesome trick i made up myself.... :)

i don't know where you live but here in ohio the cats are coming off the nest from laying their eggs and their mouths are sore so it's a good idea to use soft baits such as chicken livers ,shad and chubs also cut baits are good to.

I hear, Strawberry dough balls, Cheesy dough balls, turkey, chicken and beef liver,  and shrimp work well in the heat.

Might want to try some cut bluegill if it's legal in your area.

Yep, and the all mighty hotdog. "Not the lil smokeys"... Sometimes I'll puree some liver and inject it into the hot dog pieces... That does work well.
