What band would you turn down tickets to see, even though it would shock the people who think they know you?

Mine would be Led Zeppelin. I think they're great and all, but there are so many others that I prefer. It borders on sacrilege to say it, but its true. Who's yours?

  1. Queen. Yes, i know they're a legend, they're really talented.... I like some of their songs, yeah. But i'm not that big on them.

    I'd rather see Nirvana.

  2. i'm on the train with two of the answers already given

even though the rolling stones are my favorite band, they put on quite possibly the worst live performance in history at the super bowl 3 years ago, and now that mick and keith are something like 65 years old, i don't know how much of a show they would put on

the other one, as ladytron said, would be queen...paul rodgers cannot be, nor will he ever be, the greatness that was freddy mercury...the fact that queen would want to replace freddy is appalling

  3. hmmm.. good question..

i think it would be R.E.M. people seem to think I'm a big R.E.M.  fan because I like a lot of bands similar to it... but I definitely would pass on seeing them.

I do admit, they are talented and have a few good songs, but it's not the kind of band i'd wanna see live.

  4. The Rolling Stones. I love their music, and I would have given anything to see them when they were younger, but I believe that they are just way past their prime. The only reason I would see them now is just so I could say that I saw the Stones.

  5. any band that charges over 100 bucks for a ticket!  or 50 for that matter.

  6. Well, NOW - Queen. Seriously, that guy, Paul Rogers is it? Nothing compared to Freddie Mercury, I think it's terrible they even considered that.

Another, The Rolling Stones. Well, maybe I'd still go, but out of the bands I like, it would be them. They were here at Slane last year, I couldn't afford a ticket, but Mick Jagger had to go offstage a couple of times to get a hit of his oxygen mask. Very rock and roll. :|  That said, I probably would still go.

  7. Well, the people who know me would only be shocked regarding my favourites.

So, taken from my 10 equal favourite bands and artists :~

    Led Zeppelin :

Much as I love them, I would rather listen to them as they were.

    Dire Straits :

Although I have all three of their live albums, for the most part I prefer the studio performances.

    Stevie Nicks :

I love Stevie's music, but she's no longer quite the rocker she once was...

  8. I agree with you, I respect that Led Zeppelin is loved by many many people, but they aren't exactly my style. I would turn down those tickets.

And the Beatles too. I mean, congratulations that you're one of the best-selling bands in the world, blah blah blah, but their music doesn't speak to me the way many people claim it does for them.

  9. Well, I actually did turn down (free) tickets to go see James Taylor whom I love. And it was shocking to those who asked me to go, but I felt that I was needed elsewhere that night.
