Hundreds and hundreds.  We have two major music festivals (Austin City Limits and South by Southwest) and live music every night in several venues.  There are just way too many to name.

well, there will be tons of bands here for Austin City Limits Music Festival and South by Southwest.  Get on the Austin Chronicle online and you can get an idea.  Gypsy Kings were just here last night, Lyle Lovett was here a few weeks ago, Bob Dylan was here last year, Al Green was here about 2 years ago...

Go to www.austinchronicle.com. This is the local alternative weekly newspaper that not only lists performing musicians, but the date and venue. You can also check www.TravelAustinTexas.com (click on the Austin Music button), for close up reviews of the top music venues in Austin and the talent that performs there.

Music schedules for most clubs are completed 90 days ahead. National touring acts may have a 9 month lead-in but usually announce no later than 90 days out. Not written in stone, but a good rule of thumb.

Keep in mind that on any given Saturday night, 500 acts may perform at any one of 200 live music venues. Old favorites, up and comers, never heard of's. That's why Austin is the live music capital of the world!
