What bank are you with and are they any good?

I used to bank with The Woolwich, then they changed to Barclays, who are the biggest jokers I have ever come across! I have a huge list of issues with them, the most recent one being that they cancelled my bank card with no reason or explanation! Then it took 6 weeks for them to send me a new one!

I have now opened accounts with HSBC and Lloyds and will soon be closing the Barclays account.

Just interested to see what banks other people are with and if they are any good.

  1. Bank of the Cascades of Oregon/Idaho.  Great.  Wells Fargo Sucks!

  2. I have two Lloyds TSB and Coop Bank. Both are good as far as banks go.

  3. The listening bank all they listen to is the sound of counting their money.

  4. Alliance & Leicester - avoid them. They have several times refused debit card transactions for no reason and twice paid out money on direct debits that I had cancelled. They are currently in the process of being taken over by Santander, who also own Abbey, so hopefully they will improve.

  5. First Direct - they are very good.

But of course most banks will give you good service when you have reasonable amounts of money in your accounts and you pay your credit card bill on time and do not over-run your overdraft.

You start to get problems with banks when you DO NOT adhere to the above.

It is a one way street with them, you cannot win :(

  6. barclays they suck also have account with hsbc, they keep out of my way no complaints :)

  7. Any blue circle banks in the city should be good to bank with. But the reputation of banks as financial services providers are not as good during their hay days years ago. They need to regain this values and trust from their customers again.

  8. The co-operative bank is the worst bank i have ever been with, they are very keen to charge you £30 even when its there fault no apologies but did eventually get my money back but was very embarrassed by them.Barclay's i have had no problems with,

  9. I'm with First Direct, which is part of HSBC, and I am very happy with them

  10. NatWest

and they have always been good to me so far

  11. I'm with Barclays, and I've never had any issues with them

  12. Mine is Halifax and I think they give you most interest.

  13. What bank am i? good question..I wouldn't want to be any to be honest..

I have account with most top banks but can see myself been a HSBC

  14. Lloyds TSB, they're stupid from time to time, but when you do need them to do something they pull through, h**l they even offer compensation for their c*ck ups, can't go wrong with that!
