What bank details can I safely give?

When receiving a payment into my bank account via an international money transfer what bank details should I give to the payer?

Obviously I want to give him what he needs to pay me the money but I don't want to give away details that could result in harm to my account.

What details should I give him and what should I NOT give him?

Nothing- if your determined to do this set up a seperate account with the bank that  the person can deposit only; no withdrawls.

To do a transfer, you'd have to give the bank/routing number and account number.  Right there, if this person's intentions are bad, they can get into your account.  Call your bank and ask about setting up a different account number solely for the purpose of receiving funds.
