  1. I joined Apple Credit Union when I was in school in Virginia. It is a credit union specifically for school students and faculty. There were never any charges for the checking account, and all I had to have to open it was $5 and they deposited it for me as a gift! Also I know that some banks have free checking for students. You should check around with the banks in your area and see if there are any credit unions associated to the schools. Credit Unions are really nice, because the usually are better with their members and have beter interest rates when you need a loan

  2. A FEW DAYS AGO I GOT THE CHASE HIGH SCHOOL CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THOSE 13-17. IT IS LINKED TO A PARENTS ACCOUNT. MY PACKAGE COMES WITH A VISA CHECK CARD. THERE ARE NO SERVICE FEES. ALL THE RULES APPLY WITH THIS ACCOUNT EXCEPT IF YOU OVERDRAFT IT IS TAKEN FROM YOUR PARENTS. SO BE CAREFUL. IT CONVERTS TO A FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT WHEN YOU TURN 19.

  3. Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo. But you will need an adult to co-sign. otherwise you will only get to have a savings account. Make sure you have your high school ID card and a drivers license ( if you have that) otherwise apply for a state ID card from the DMV.
