  1. 650 cold cranking amps.

  2. Two stroke: 100-120 amp Hours, 512 cold cranking amps, 182 reserve minutes

Four Stroke:  100-200 amp hours,  512 cold cranking amps, 182 reserve minutes.

These specs came from the 1994-2006 Yamaha tune up spec guide

Do not get an everstart battery.  You will be back next year for another battery.  On the big Yamaha outboard they have an isolator lead to charge the house battery which runs you boat electronics.  This is not a mercury opti max.  Remember the specs in the tune up guide are minims, the battery must be at least that size.

  4. Get the biggest battery you can fit in the battery try. Beside just running your outboard, you have live well pumps, lights, electronics, etc. Not stating what year it is; but the newer ones with computers need a min. of 1000 CCA.

My Merc.200 HP Optimax says use a 1000CCA, so I would suggest that for you as well.

Go to walmart and get you an everstart, why walmarts are all over the country, something goes wrong with one, easy to get it replaced.

Good Luck and be safe on the water.

  5. I would by the battery with the most amp. and make sure it's a marine batt.( also the most time under drawdown). i had a 115 johnson on a 17ft. tri hull. the marine comp that sold me the boat gave me a battery that couldn't start a lawn tractor! I burnt out the bushings on the starter, so i saved myself a ton of money by getting a bat. with the largest cranking amps. that i could! buy the way bushings are a lot cheeper than the starter!
