  1. Virginia Beach isn't really that far, only about an hours drive from Williamsburg.  It sounds far, but it's not, it's all highway.

Another beach that's closer to Williamsburg is York River Landing.  It's a much smaller beach, not as "touristy" as Virginia Beach, but it's nice.  Check out their website here: http://www.riverwalklanding.com/  One warning with this location though, it's very expensive.  There's a few really nice shops in the area, but they're pricey (I've never bought anything in them, even though I've been numerous times!).  The restaurants are even pricey, however, if you go out of the area though, there's plenty of other places to find within your budget range.

There are also numerous other smaller private beaches along the Colonial Parkway, but they're hard to spot sometimes.

Another fairly close beach is in Newport News, just about 20 minutes from Williamsburg.  It's called Huntington park.  Check here for it's info:  http://www.nnparks.com/parks_huntington....  This location is another locals spot, but a lot of tourists go here too.

  2. there is yorktown beach!

  3. I usally go to Ocean City Maryland on my way to Virginia but I live in New York so its on the way. unfourtunatly it is pretty far from Busch Gardens.  Virginia Beach is much closer.

  4. Bush Gardens has water rides!
