Question:

What became of the US Olympic swimmer with testicular cancer about whom there was so much pre-Olympics buzz?

I made a point to watch every swimming competition because I knew he was only going to be in one event and I wanted to cheer for him. But it seems he did not participate after all--and what's worse is that after all the publicity given to him before the Olympics, there hasn't been a word about him since!

Does anyone know what happened since he left for China?

  1. I saw him on the Today Show with his dad on Thursday. He swam a personal best but didn't make it into any finals. He is to go back to the States and have surgery and then treatment. His name is Eric Shanteau
