  15. You shouldn't give a kid a bedtime. If they're not tired they won't go to sleep no matter what. Not because they're being defiant, but because it's physically impossible.

  16. 11 year old= 9:00

    13 year old= 10:00

    15 year old= in bed by 12

  17. 11= 9:00, if they want they can read for a half hour to wind down.

13= 9:30/10:00 depending on homework schedule, etc

    15= 10:00/10:30

  18. I don't understand this at all.  They say that teenager need more sleep, not less.  You let a 13 year old stay up until 11:00.  That's insane.  Growing up, bedtime in the folks home was never past 10:00, which is when they went to bed.  The idea of letting kids stay up to all hours is one of the reasons their grades and attitudes suffer.  Teach them responsibility.  They have to get up in the morning willingly to go to school.  If they're exhausted and you drag them out of bed, what is it you're teaching them exactly.  That's enabling poor behavior through poor parental choices.

    0-3 7:30-8:00

    3-9 or 10 8:30

    10-13 9:30

    13 + 10:00

All these times hinge on good behavior.  Bad behavior means earlier bedtime.

  19. ok look

15: 11:00 but can stay up till 12:00 talking to friends or 12:30 if you want to

13: 11:00 but can stay up till 11:30 talkint 2 friends and stuff

    11: 11:00 11 thats it though

it might sound crazy that they all are in bed at 11:00 but its ok because non of them will through a fit and get all braty on you for haveing to go to bed earlyer...

  20. my 8 year old goes to bed at 9-930 our 15 year old goes to bed at 10-11 and my 8 year old gets up and ready better than the 15 year old.

  21. During school. my 10 year old will be ready for bed at 9:00PM to get up at 7AM.   My 14 year old is harder to keep track of because I fall asleep before her but hopefully she will make a responsible choice.

  22. I never had a bed time so I'm just going to guess. I'm pregnant now and I will be setting bed times for my child growing up...

    Lets see..

    15 - 11pm on weeknights and 12am on weekends

13 - 10 pm on weeknights and 10:30 pm on weekends

11 - 9:30 pm on weeknights and 10pm on weekends.

I wonder if I'm too strict or not enough? I guess I would try this out until grades start to fail.. if that happens then I would schedule it earlier.

  23. Growing up we received more rewards with more responsibilty as we respected and obeyed our parents. For example, when we went to high school at 12 we were responsible for getting ourselves out of bed, fed and off to school in the morning, as long as we got up we were allowed to stay up to 11 on a week night, but the first time one of our parents had to wake us up, we had to be in bed at 9. On a weekend we were still supposed to be in bed by 12 even at 18 years old. My father always gets up for work by 3AM and so we could not make any noise at night. TV's were not allowed in our rooms and so if we watched TV it had to be quiet and off by 12 no matter what. If we wanted to read in our rooms that was fine, as long as we were quiet and still on the weekends we had to be up by a certain time. We all worked on the farm and had responsibilities that we had to take care of. I feel any curfew is earned by respect, responsiblity and obedience.

  24. I have four kids. My 14 yr old bedtime on school nights 10pm. The 10 year old bedtime on school nights is 9 pm and my 7 and 5 year old bedtime is 8:30pm. However on summer vacation they stay up until 10-11pm as long as they are being good and behaving.
