Tends to vary because there are so many international beers as well as microbrews here.  

Since I travel alot, I try ro sample that country's beers and if I see it here, I will order it.  Also depends the place I am at. If it is a Japanese restaurant, I will order Sapporo, Asahi or Kirin.  If I am at an irish pub, guiness etc...

The answer, it really varies since there are so many choices in NYC.
