What beetle?

recently whilst up in the loft i noticed a smallish brown beetle scurrying along apprx half inch long,moving quickly.i have never in 7 years seen one before. then tonight whilst watching t.v.an identical one dropped from somewhere onto my shirt.it has a hard shiny back.we have recently had shedloads of loft insulation installed.any ideas as to what this beetle is .

its not death watch if thats what your worried about. he sounds like a Junie to me. i got lots of them in my garden shed.

theyre june beetles come out in june

They are called June Bugs.
