I just recently got interested in golf and I want to buy my own set of clubs. I am a beginner, male, 14 years old, and 5'6" if that helps you know what kind of set I need. I am not looking for anything over maybe 100-$110. Also if you have any tips to help improve my game, that would be appreciated.

  1. You should think about going to a secondhand sports store or asking around to see if anyone has some clubs to give away. Walmart has some good cheap clubs that are great for starting out. It doesnt really matter at first how nice your clubs are, you just need some to practice with. After you get used to the game and get better then you should buy better clubs.

  2. some really good clubs for a really good price are Golfmates. they are usually cheap and last a while. I just bought a Golfmate Eagle 4- iron for $9.00.

  3. I'm recommend to buy Texan Classics Junior golf set, new is special price

  4. Are you taking lessons?  If not, do that first.  Then ask your golf pro for advice.  The pro will give you the best advice you can get. Often times they have resources for good used clubs.  In addition, you may not need to start with a full set. Don't run out and buy a cheap Wal-Mart set.  These will do more harm to your learning to hit the ball properly.

  5. If you want read something more about "golf",

more information i just come accross this blog which may help you.

  6. With that budget, you are gonna need to get used clubs.....try a second hand store or Ebay.  When you get them, at least to get the lie angle fitted to you.

  7. If you are playing at a club on a regular basis or have one near by call the pro-shop and ask them. I found a great deal on a Taylor Made driver that a member was selling. Odds are they will know somebody getting rid of a set of used clubs.

  8. My son says go buy a full set on sale.  He's 10 and a "golf expert".

  9. Dont listen to anyone telling you to go get used or cant get new with that price. Simply go to Sports Authority or d**k's sporting goods. They have nice beg. clubs for you around 100to 150.

  11. Start off with a half set of clubs or go for some second hand clubs. It's better to start off with a smaller set until you get used to hitting the ball. Then, when you start hitting the ball well, look for and try out clubs and pick a set you like. As for tips, keep your balance throughout the swing, keep your eye on the ball and don't try to hit it as hard as you can until you have a swing developed.
