What benefits are there for not seeding a torrent?

what are some things you should be aware of while seeding a torrent?

be careful. my son recently used a torrent program and we received a nasty letter from our internet provider that Universal Studios contacted them and found that we have uploaded a movie file? We did not have ours set as a seed. They said to remove the movie from our computer. I have to call the internet provider tomorrow and find out more.

Well, firstly, your upload bandwidth will be full because of other ppl who willl need the download. As far as I know, your IP address is given on some clients, but nothing else.
