What benefits are there for people in developing countries in becoming more integrated in the world economy?

for one, a more developed country can mass produce more products and therefor sell them cheaper. This can help these developing countries. Also companies use developing countries to produce products which gives them jobs and gives other consumers even cheaper products.

Advantages:

jobs

better flow of information (people can make more informed choices)

overall increased standard of living

Disadvantages:

loss of some tradition (the way things used to be)

loss of feeling of insularity (or security of familiarity)

increased expectations (this could also be an advantage)
