  1. they get to show off the beauty of their city and country and home crowd advantage always helps

  2. they have the judges on their side

  3. Where did you hear that they get to add an event?  That is not the case, only the IOC and the individual sports federations can add events.

Ping Pong has been an event for years (It was added to the Olympics in 1988, 20 years ago).  The only truly new events that were added were BMX in Cycling and a 10k swim.  All other changes were merely re-working of old events or new events for a gender (I.e. Women's 3000m Steeplechase, they've never competed in that event before).

The only games related benefit that the host country get is that they automatically get an entry into every event without having to qualify.

Not to mention the home field advantage that having a packed, very partisan crowd at every event gives you.

  4. many people will go to the host country and more people can see their tourist's spot.

many big companies will go to the host country to sell their product and endorse the Olympics.

they also get a kick *** stadium (but its not much of a benefit because i think the money that is spend for the stadium is the money of China)

there are many benefits, most of them are business and economic benefits. Media interest is also there. with so many athletes like Usain Bolt, Kobe, Lebron, Nadal, Federer and Phelps. Media would really want to go to the host country.

  5. They have a chance to make their country look really good.
